Meininger Berlin-Mitte

CLIENT: Meininger City Hotels & Hostel | YEAR: 2011 | made by: Olaf Maurer / Peter Ulbrich
SERVICES: conception, design, detailed planning, construction supervision

In May 2011 Meininger Hotel in Berlin Mitte opened at the „Humboldthaus“. Two parts of a building (old- and new building) became one new hotel with 128 rooms. The limited space on the ground floor required an optimal utilization of the existing space for the different „public“ zones. Confusing hallway transfers have been replaced by orientation and guiding concepts. Double and two-bed rooms, rooms with a daybed, 4-, 6- and 8-bed rooms have been developed. As a special furnishing variation we created the 6-bunk-bed, a facility with 6 beds, integrated storage space and illumination.
